From a glass of wine or our own eyes to clusters of dark matter, lenses are made through various physical means all around our universe. In this section I would like to explore the concept of 'the lens' in all of it's wonder. First, I will give an explicit definition of a lens and then we can begin to tackle some of the details and interesting points to these lenses. As a way to explore the details of my personal hobby, photography, I will seek to explain some of the awesomeness that emerges from understanding a physical concept.

The Cocktail Glass Microscope

Microscopes are amazing pieces of equipment and - surprisingly - is not too complicated to make one at home (albeit a rather crappy one).  It is just a matter of combining a few lenses in an intelligent way.  Part of this project will be to explore this concept.
