The Earnest Channel

Why do you spin the basketball to balance it on their finger, and how does this help us understand why our earth still spins? Why is the sky blue, and what makes a cloud white? And how might we use clouds to discover particles?  Why can I ride my bike with no handle bars!?!...okay, that ones actually a little too confusing for scientist right now.  Physics is all around us, in so many intricate and surprising ways - it's awesome.  This is me trying to make your interest match up with physics or, as I like to say, I gonna talk about Everyday Physics. Below are some of my ongoing projects.  Let me know if your ever want to hear about something particular! Light Scattering In the Sky

Why is our Sky Blue, or why are clouds white? I may even try to convince you that our sky is in fact purple...sometimes. CLICK HERE to learn about Light Scattering in the Sky.

COFFEE!!!

Why exactly do you need to grind your coffee beans, or boil the water, and where else do these principles apply? And why do dried up coffee drips tend to forms rings? Click here to see my project exploring COFFEE!

Lenses Everywhere!

When light moves from one medium to another, it bends. If you curve the second medium, you create a lens. But, not only that, gravity – when it's really strong – can create an effective lens by somehow pulling on massless 'particles' we call photons…

Making Clouds and Particle Detectors

How exactly do clouds forms, and how might you be able to accomplish such a feat? This project will explore how clouds are formed, and how we can use this principle to make particle detectors! Click here to check out my clouds project.

I have had the chance to work on a few other science communication projects. Find them below.
