Quantum Physics

One of my main research interest is quantum physics, considering both the fundamental truths that arise from this strange and unintuitive law of nature, as well as its potential to bring on a new and exciting technology that can make a huge impact on society.

During my PhD studies at the University of Chicago, I mainly focused on the experimental side by engineering a new superconducting quantum bit, the Heavy Fluxonium, that could maintain its quantum states for longer periods of time – an essential task in order to realize a fault tolerant quantum computer[1].

Since completing my studies I am now at IBM Q working to help bring quantum computers out of the lab by exploring near term quantum algorithms for already-made quantum computers, and exploring how we can help create a new quantum industry ecosystem – exciting times!
